Overnight Apple French Toast

1 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup butter

2 tablespoons light corn syrup

2 large tart apples, peeled and sliced

3 eggs

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

9 slices french bread sliced 3/4 inch thick

Syrup

1 cup applesauce

1 (10 oz) jar apple jelly

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon cloves

In a small sauce pan, cook brown sugar, butter and syrup until thick, 5-7

minutes

Pour into an ungreased 13 x 9 baking pan. Arrange apples on top. In mixing

bowl beat eggs, milk and vanilla.

Dip bread in egg mixture and place over apples. Cover and refrigerate

overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake

uncovered at 350 for 40 minutes.

Cook syrup in saucepan until hot. Pour over toast before serving.
