B&B Information
Three blocks from the center of town, the Saltair Inn is set on over one acre of waterfront property. The inn is within easy walking distance to everything in the village, yet far enough removed to preserve the peaceful tranquility of its distinguished location in the Bar Harbor Historic District.
Constructed in 1886 by Boston architect Arthur Rotch, the Saltair has been carefully renovated to accommodate guests while preserving the original architecture and period elements of its Victorian heritage. Each accommodation offers thoughtful appointments and amenities appreciated by modern travelers without compromising the historic legacy of the home.
Spacious luxury suites are appointed with king-size beds, elegant private baths, multiple gas fireplaces, TV, and private sitting rooms overlooking the Bay. An expansive back lawn slopes gently from the rear of the house to the water's edge where low tide reveals a sand bar connecting the Saltair property to Bar Island, from which Bar Harbor takes its name.A full breakfast is served between 8:00 and 9:30 AM on the rear deck or in the formal dining room overlooking the Bay. For early risers, fresh-brewed gourmet coffee is ready by 7:00 AM.
The Saltair Inn offers off street parking for all of their guests, free WIFI, and 24 hour complimentary coffee, tea, water and sodas.
