Eric and Michelle are delighted that you are looking at our home for your upcoming vacation. Built in 1876, our home was originally built as summer lodging for the wealthy looking to escape the heat of Boston and New York City. This house has had several reincarnations over its life and has been summer apartments, a hostel and a nursing home. Spared from the devastating fire of 1947 that burned much of Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, this house was finally turned into a Bed & Breakfast in the early 1980's.

Today, this home's wonderful accommodations and amenities make it the perfect setting for your Bar Harbor visit. Beautiful and elegant, comfortable and tranquil we work hard to create a relaxing adult atmosphere, your escape from the everyday. Leave your cares and worries behind and come stay with us and let our home be your homebase for a fun and exciting vacation for you and your traveling companion.
Our location is within walking distance to downtown but just far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Our house is so close to several entrances to Acadia National Park that you can drive, walk, or bike from our inn and be in the park in a matter of minutes. Whether you choose to spend the day in the National Park, shopping in downtown Bar Harbor, or sailing around the island on a cruise start your day off here at the Holbrook House with one of our hand crafted breakfasts.

Michelle and Eric love to renovate rooms in the winter season. Check out our fully renovated rooms, Lafayette Suite, Compass Rose, Beachcomber, Seafarer and Ash Cottage. These all have modern bathrooms and amenities. We are sure you'll love them as much as we do.
